The procedure is called Hysterosalpingogram (HSG). This website may be helpful to you. My OBG told me that it is very uncomfortable, but hey we are willing to go through a little discomfort for that beautiful gift, right?
Dilatation and curettage (D&C) for having the lining scraped out. Hysterosalpingogram for looking at your reproductive tract.
D&C - cramping, yes it can hurt but it’s not too bad, it can be done with you under so you don’t remember, or in an office with general anesthetic. Hysterosalpingogram, same deal - usually done under sedation.
D and C, LEEP? Not sure about the scraping one. It could be something they do for a biopsy or to clean you out after a miscarriage.
The other procedure you are talking about is called a Hysterosalpingogram. They do not put gas in your fallopian tubes. That put a radiopaque contrast in them and use x-ray (flouroscopy) to see if the uterus is shaped normal and if the fallopian tubes are blocked at all. Sometimes the injection of the "dye" itself can help to open the tubes.
A D&C is the procedure that they use to scrape the lining of you uterus. You may feel some cramping and bleeding after. As far as the tubes… an HSG is done by running dye through the tubes to see if they are blocked and with that there may be some cramping after. I am assuming that this is what you meant. Hope this helps.

it’s called a DNC. I had one done. No pain at all. I was put on anesthesia for mine but there was no pain afterward either.
