I have PCOS too. I was started on Metformin 1 1/2 years ago. I was never very regular at taking it b/c of all the side effects, but it did regulate my cycle to every 6 weeks. Before, I would go 6 to 9 months without a period. I stopped taking it a couple months ago, but then found out i was pregnant 6 weeks ago. I have read a lot of forums online of women who have taken Metformin for a much shorter time than that and were able to get pregnant.
