Infertility means when Male or Female are not able to reproduce by means of not ovulating eggs or perhaps a low or abnormal sperm count.

Infertility treatment developed to meet human needs of an emotional kind. It means that people wanted to have their own blood/biological child than adopt or they were not able to adopt.

Two such treatments used is IVF(invitro-fertilization)and clomid.

Clomid is a self injected shot to increase progesterone. This is supposed to help ovulate more eggs.

IVF is a more intense process where the women is injected with multiple hormones. During this process they eject several eggs after they have used hormones to increase production of eggs. Then in a petri dish they ovulated the egg to the sperm where an embryo is concieved. After they find the egg is viable they transplant the embryo to the uterus where the women continues hormones. The risk is high most don’t take or they miscarry.

Factors that are important are PCOS(polycystic ovarian syndrome), the person’s weight, Fibroids, cysts, tumors, preconditions, scar tissue, emotional, financial(money to continue payment).

The implications can be many. Emotional, what they call a rollercoaster if you do/don’t conceive. There can also be fluctuations in hormones because of the use of hormones. Financial, costs over 11,000 dollars for IVF per treatment. The most notable one is the risk of multiples. Most IVF patients end up having twins, maybe triplets. Of course you’ve heard of those that have 6 septuplets. The risk to the mother and the babies can range from physical complications due to being born early, abortion to save the other children, or death to either the children, mother or both.

I know they are passing a law now that reduces the amount of embryos that are allowed to be implanted within a women’s uterus.

I could go on and on.. But I don’t support putting 6 embryos at the risk of so many complications. The cost and the risk is too great. And adopting is a beautiful thing.

Infertility actually means unable to have children. Most of the treatments out there are for low fertility. Some people are challenged to have children because of waiting until they were past their peak fertility rates. The treatments (ovulation predictors, IVF, Artificial Insemination, Clomid, etc…) were developed to increase the chance of pregnancy.

Factors - timing, physical health, economics, age

Implications - population boom, older parents means higher chance of birth defects and multiple births.
