Sounds like it may be too late and you may need to have it cut off. Go to a jeweler. They can cut it off in a way that makes it easy to be repaired.

Best wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy!

  2. Joy Says:

Try it in the morning, as hands are less swollen at this time, right when you first wake up. Other than liquid soap and the other methods you have tried, I dont think there is another way.

You’ll look funny, so do it in a room where no one can see you…hold your hands above your head. Sometimes that will help reduce swelling as it lowers blood flow a bit to your hands…good luck!

  4. *8weeks* ~till induction~ *YAY* Says:

Cooking oil might do the trick. If not, then you might have to ask your doc and see if he/she can give you something to make the swelling go down. Hopefully you can get it off with cooking oil though. Just put a bunch on your finger and try to wiggle it off lol…hopefully that works.

  5. White (cub is due on Halloween) Says:

Place your hand in hot salty water remove and place in cold water.
Use some cooking oil on your fingers, they will get slippery and the ring might come of.

However…if it is cutting your circulation you should seriously consider having it cut off.

well with my 3rd kid i was the same way and i had to put dish soap all over it and slide it up and back and get it in the middle of the ring and twist it and pull really hard its going to hurt but try that dont use water if that dont work ur going to have to get it cut off. well good luck

Soaking your hands in hot water with a creamy oil body wash (Dove) will make your hands smooth, moist, and slippery.. perfect for making the rings come off. Also, if that doesn’t work, try conditioner.. Everytime I put conditioner in my hair my rings start coming off.

  8. Gail D Says:

Increase the amount of protein you are eating in the next few days, and this could help to bring down the swelling temporarily, enough to get the ring off. Also increase the amount of water you are drinking. B

Do you have to take it off for labour?? If not leave it on until you give birth and then it should come off easy the next day or so. Give your finger some recovery time and put it back on. Butter?? Holding your arm up in the air for some time??Olive oil.

  10. cortex_disconnect Says:

Run the rings under hot water so they expand and use soap to make them slippery..

You said soaking your hand in cold water didn’t help but I would suggest that, or having a cool bath, that way it cools down your whole body temperature rather than just your hand, or a shower or something, try getting them off in the shower and use baby oil, moisten all around it with the water and rub in baby oil all around it. Baby oil locks in moisture and will make the skin softer for it to hopefully slide off. Most people try and get rings etc off my pulling them off but sometimes it’s alot easier to move it in a circling motion while gently pulling. Good luck

  12. Little girl coming in 2 weeks! Says:

UH OH, you may be stuck with them and have to have them removed, at this point there really isnt any way to reduce the swelling, all you can try is baby oil, lotion the usual, but that may not work without causing alot of pain. My mom had to have her wedding ring cut off when she had me :(

    not long to go now…..
but try in themorning…while still in bed…holding arm up in the air for a while and then pul it off…..if that doesn’t work….find some thread……poke it under your ring so that there is about 10 cms of thread on the hand side…..(you may need a needle to thread it through)…..then wrap thread on the finger nail side around and around neatly, so thread does not overlap previous loop……
then from hand side, unwind thread slowly around finger and this should slowly shift ring down length of finger…..
I saw it in a book when I used to be a receptionist at the doctors! Good luck……
