They will be asking you a lot of questions - your medical history, that of your partner, your family history, review any testing that you have done, etc . . .
They will probably schedule testing for you both including FSH to check your follicle stimulating hormone, TSH to check thryroid function, progesterone to check for ovulation, hsg to check that your tubes are not blocked and a semen analysis for your partner. These tests are often scheduled for certain cycle days so be sure to bring a calendar with you.
As to questions, I would discuss things like the fertility clinic hours - our had early morning hours which made it easier for ultrasounds and bloodwork to be scheduled before work, they were open 7 days a week so they were available on the weekend if my body was ready for a treatment etc . . . I would also ask about their philosophy and success rates. Our RE liked to minimize the chance of multiples (no octuplets for us) which was good with us.
they wiil ask u yours+your partners fertilty history and all about your cycle they will prob organise you to hav tests done on your next visit to rule out what your problem is
they will ask questions about family history on both sides, ask about your cycle, whether you’ve been pregnant before or whether your partner has ever got anyone pregnant. Ask about possable illnesses that can affect fertility, i.e mumps in men. Probably ultrasound your ovaries and maybe ultrasound your partners scrotum. A sperm test will be scheduled and probably will need to do a repeat test, they like to have 2 readings. Hopefully they can determine the cause of you guys not getting pregnant and refer you off for assited conception, be that ivf or whatever is suitable for you guys. Best of luck!! ask questions like how long they expect all the testing to take & how soon you can be referred after a diagnosis, success rates etc, what to expect if you need to do ivf, costs, i’m sure you will find plenty of things to ask, theres lots to know!!
First you need to plan to be there a long time. I was there for over an hour. Mine asked about family history, sex life, health questions for me and husband. He did an ultrasound and blood work.
