Hey, my husband & I have had majior fertility treatment, and I know for sure that there is no conflict of beliefs between fertility treatments and being a Christian. My husband is a teacher in an International Bible school, so I'm really sure about that.
The conflict that you may have picked up on is with the IVF treatment, it is where the Dr places between 3 -6 eggs in your uterus. In the States they tend to plant 6 and in Europe 3. In the States the debate rose because in a rare case if all 6 eggs fertilized then the Dr would suggest "reducing" that number to 2 or 3 to give at least some of the eggs a chance to survive. In Europe they only implant 3 and in my experience they don't offer a reduction. If you are based in the States and need IVF, and you have a problem with that, perhaps ask your surgeon to implant only 3. I had 2 and lost one - but I lost naturally through misscarriage, not through a Drs. reduction.
As far as I know it is not against Christian believe to use birth control or any other methods though I do believe abortion isnt good. I suggest reading ur bible or asking your pastor.
Hmm I'm not sure I'll be able to help but I'll try. I am a Christian although I don't know the bible too well so I can't give you any scriptures to back it up one way or the other. I do however know several Christian families and I have never heard of any saying that fertility treatments are against Christian beliefs. I think that any medical treatment that can help you concieve a child would be looked at positively to God. Afterall, God is the one who gives man the knowledge of medicine and healing. I think I understand where you're coming from. Maybe you're afraid fertility treatments will interfere with what would happen naturally and you don't want to try and decide your future for yourself? I really think its okay. If God doesn't want you to be a parent, then the fertility treatments won't work anyway because he will still be in control of what happens if you ask him to. Just pray and ask God to let whatever he has in mind for you to happen. Then if the treatments work, trust that he helped them work for you. Maybe just pray about it and see what you think about treatments. Good luck!
It is fine…What real christians pass judgment….If they did not want to see some one happy …That cant have children on there on…Even by infertillity treament….Then… what they say would not matter…
I am a Christian and I try to seek Christ in everything I do….and I want to start off by saying that I have fertility problems…. basically, I make the eggs, but i dont release them….my husband and I cannot conceive without the help of a doctor…..I feel like God has prepared us to be parents and wants us to be parents…he has given us this desire…
…God has given us the gift of modern medicine and has given my husband and I great doctors…..The bible does not talk about this subject because when it was written they didn't have fertility treatments…..God is healer, and he can get us pregnant without the help of doctors if he wants us to, but in mine and my husbands case, I feel like it is right for us to use the fertility treatments…..this is how i see it….if i had cancer, i would go to a oncologist for treatment…if i had diabetes, i would get on insulin for treatment….I have fertility problems, so i am getting treatment for that….I believe God has put my doctors in my life to help me through this……and when I do get pregnant, all the glory will go to God….
I hope this helps!
I have been a Christian all my life and go to church all the time! I have just been through two rounds of fertility treatment (clomid) and thank God i feel preg on the second round. I dont think that there is any problem with fertility treatment, if my husband and i needed we would have also had IVF to have a baby and our pastor would have supported us. There is no difference in fertility treatment to any other form of medication to improve our bodies. Hope this helps!
all i have to say is iam have fertility problems and i just pray about it and put everything in god hands! he is the best that ever happend 2 me! but all iam sayin is have faith the devil is workin 24-7 to take us out of the will of god, please dont let him! because the lord wont put nothin in front of us that we cant handle! THRUST ME!!! GOD BLESS & GOOD LUCK!!!
