My sister was pregnant at her wedding, and had to change her size like 10 times. I would say go with the seamstress. Maybe not an 18, maybe more like 14, or 16… you can always change it later!
It's kind of odd to buy a larger size gown. There are maternity wedding gowns made by several designers. I just had my first fitting today for my maternity bridesmaid dress (maker Alfred Angelo).
I think that I would go the maternity dress route inside of getting a dress that will be big all over. After the alterations, it may end up looking a little strange if there's a pattern or beading.
I'd go up one size and look for a design that works with your shape as your belly grows. An empire waist would look fantastic, as long as you account for the growing chest!!
Ask the seamstress if she will be able to make last minute alterations, say a week before the wedding.
It's always a good idea to order big… They can always take the dress in if it's too big, but taking it out can be a problem. They may not have enough material to take it out enough. Still, I don't think an 18… Maybe a 16, then she can fit it to you right before the wedding. Congrats on the marriage and the baby.
Hi, there is so many beautiful maternity wedding dresses out there. Just ask at your local wedding dress shop or online. I am sure you will look amazing when the time comes.
you can always get the dress taken in if your smaller than a size 18 it is possible to be that big in that short period of time just depends on your body and your baby's growth! Good luck
I seriously doubt your dress size would increase that much at only 5 months. If you get an empire waste style that allows belly room, you could probably still fit in a size 10 or maybe the next size up.
No I doubt you would go up that much in just 2 months. I would order a dress a few sizes bigger though, and that way you can get it taken in as much as you need. If your a 10, I would get a size 14 or 16. I would not book my alterations appt. until a month before the wedding. That way you will be as close to your size. Make sure to let them leave a little extra belly room too just incase you grow after they alter it so it's still comfy. Congrats on the wedding and baby!
I'd wait until post baby… why do you want to look back in your wedding photos and be pregnant and showing? I know that sounds superficial but I look back to my wedding day and I personally would have waited…
It's very hard to tell as every pregnancy is different… I was meant to be a bridesmaid for a friend but i ended up saying no cause i got pregnant and had extremely bad morning sickness and was tired alot (didn't wanna bring down her day) anyway when we were looking at dresses i thought i'd be huge by then but…….. I was actually still able to pretty much wear whatever was in my wardrobe i didn't really have a tummy at that stage (and am still not that huge atm) so who knows.. But i assume it's safer to go with a slightly larger size so you can take it in if need be…….easier to have it too big than too small…..
it really all depends. it's difficult to answer that. some women gain weight faster than others early on, especially if it's your 2nd baby. let her make it larger, this way, she can always take it in if it's too big. if she makes it small and you are larger by that time, you can't add more material. good luck!
i was about a size 8/10 depending before i got pregnant and was still in my regular clothes mostly at 3 months. I am now 6 months and i know i am not a size 18 anywhere, my arms, legs, breasts…. BUT my belly, it's rather big. That's probably what she's talking about. A size 18 will most likely look ridiculous everywhere else but probably would fit your belly!! In 2 months though,I would say you will not get 8 sizes bigger if you don't gain a whole lot of weight, but I can't be certain what size you would be because everyone grows differently.. I have gained 20 pounds so I'm 163 now and I am not a size 18!
I was about 4 months pregnant when I went to buy my wedding dress and I was 6 months on my wedding day. Once I found the perfect dress I ordered it 1 size bigger than what fit me at that time figuring that would be enough room. When I picked up my dress it was actually too big and I had to have it taken in a lot. Every woman is different and carries their baby differently. Its hard to say how much bigger you are going to get in 2 months, but going by my experience I don't think you need to order it that much bigger. I would just say 1 size bigger. Best of luck!
In regular dresses you will need a bigger size because they aren't made to fit the growing belly. Also brides maid's dresses are usually cut small. I would guess a 16 as well. When you get up into 18 or larger they are sometimes cut funny and harder to tailor anyway. If you have some choice in what you wear I would try an empire waist and you can probably go with a 14 that will fit the rest of your body better

Try getting either a custom made dress or a maternity one. They make those too.

It depends. What size were you when you were 5 Months pregnant last time. I would go with that size.

i think you will be about a size 14.

Maybe you should try to wit a little bit longer and then see how big you get.but you could always just adjust the fitting.

Before I decided I do not need a wedding to validate my pregnancy. I was going to have a size 10 and have it fitted around baby bump :]

February 26th, 2009 at 9:07 am
if this is your second baby you should know by now how big you can get ?
Find some of your old maternity clothes and get a real size from them….
